Five weeks.
Five weeks until the SPFL kicks off too.
Let that sink in.
The Champions League Qualifiers loom on the horizon and we are stumbling into the Summer with all the urgency of a club that thinks the hard part is already done.
It isn’t.
Time after time we go through this, yet it never has felt more frustrating than this year.
Wilson vowed it would be different, him and his team are either failing or they lied.
Coaches unveiled on the morning of Pre Season. Draw your own conclusions.
We went into the first day of training without a confirmed coaching team around our Manager.
Then, funnily enough, the announcement arrived that very morning.
So which is it?
Are we so incompetent that we left it until the eleventh hour to sort out the basics?
Or was this gamesmanship all along, keeping our own supporters guessing so the Board could style it out as another masterstroke?
Neither answer is a good one.
I believe it to be the latter. A snide, smart arse move by the smug men in suits.
Further antagonism to fans.
An example, in their minds anyway, to show that the bed wetters wet the bed again and they had it all under control all along.
Incredible.
It tells you everything about how this place is being run.
Profits before Players.
Balance Sheets before Team Sheets.
Meanwhile our rivals are actually getting on with it.
Hearts and Rangers have both moved for new Managers swiftly and are already recruiting players.
Both are showing the kind of ambition and INVESTMENT we don’t even seem willing to contemplate.
Rangers paying a £6m fee for a Hull goalkeeper anyone?
A £6m fee. For a goalkeeper. From the club we are supposed to be miles ahead of.
Don’t get me wrong, he might turn out as bang average as Butland.
But the signs are at least there for our rival fans that their clubs are pro actively trying to make amends for their shortcomings the season just past.
We look as though we have spent all summer so far patting ourselves on the back, finishing off the champagned in a drunken love in of self worth.
It’ll be alright on the night Mike eh?
And still, not a word from the Board.
Not a peep.
The Absentee Landlord is nowhere to be seen.
The mute CEO, terrified of interviews, phone calls, crowded places.
Just what exactly does he do or has he ever done to justify a rumoured £17k a week!
The supporters who fund this Club through Season Tickets and 50 new merch releases a year are given nothing.
No plan. No reassurance. No leadership.
Just silence and the odd AI image posted on X to paper over the cracks.
“World Class in everything we do”
That line will haunt them for the rest of their days at Celtic.
Celtic PLC at its finest.
The two deals that should be done, aren’t.

Iheanacho and Sarrachi both want to come back to Celtic.
Both want it.
And yet here we are, dragging it out like it’s a hostage negotiation.
If Iheanacho carried fitness concerns last year, then just imagine signing him now, having already missed a week of Pre Season training.
We’d be setting the lad up to fail before he’s kicked a ball.
The manager liked the look of him I reckon, the type of career that mirrors many of the types O’Neill signed first time around all those years ago.
The Sarrachi deal looks cut price by any measure, a modest fee for a player who is desperate to return.
Just £1.5m guys.
Still we can’t get it over the line.
Willing seller, willing buyer, willing player.
Still nothing.
The Qualifiers won’t wait for us to wake up.
Well, here is the bit that really frightens me.
We are already behind for the Champions League Qualifiers.
Every single day in this window is a day of preparation the elite clubs are banking and we are burning.
Every day counts.
I have said it on here more times than I care to remember, and I’ll say it again.
We do not treat the Champions League with the RESPECT the competition deserves.
7 failed qualifications out of the last 9 tells you that better than I ever could.
The biggest club competition in world football, and we roll up to it every year like it’s a testimonial.
Kairat Almaty still haunts us for a reason.
There could be another rude awakening for us this August.
We cannot afford another Summer of bewilderment, another window where we start the season weaker than we finished the last.
Yet everything I am seeing points to exactly that.
Prove me wrong. Please.
Let me know in the comments below. Am I wrong here? I’d love to be.
I discussed this and plenty more over on the Bhoycie Bus, you can catch up here.
THE JUDGE VS BHOYCIE – WAKE UP CELTIC
Keep Your Eyes on The Board.
Great piece Bhoycie, club is a shitshow the now, im more worried about the league tbh, aslong as we get that over the line, thats good enough for me, as i think we are in a worse that than when Potocoglu came in
This is punishment from the tache for all those fans who demand more than Desmond wants to spend.
The game’s a bogey 5 weeks before the first league game, last season was a one off fluke, we wont get it our own way again.
I don’t want it to happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if MON walked out, why would he want to be left holding the baby when the music stops?
Unless the supporter groups can somehow get enough shares to enable changes then we are going to be a basketcase.
Desmond wants to run us into the gutter because he hates the fans that much and the lack of any signings doesnt see me changing my mind.
I dunno what it means but apparently a whole tranche of shares have been bought and sold during the last week or so.
They ain’t totally thick they must be able to read a room
That Celtic player pish they stuck on the X page today is 100% them trolling the fans .
It’s f*cking disgraceful mate
It’s not sluggish it’s policy, Desmond and his malignant cabal of corporate greed and austerity fc will spend zilch on new players ,the question must be addressed is this club in financial distress, stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
Having no problem with season ticket sales has given them the power to carry on doing what they always do, they now have the money they wanted so they will ignore the fans for the rest of the season and not care a hoot about the banners and chants
No, you are correct.
