Celtic have reportedly launched a €4.5million package for Hajduk Split wonderkid Adam Huram, but the Croatian club are demanding considerably more.

Celtic Adam Huram bid reports have emerged from Croatia, with the Scottish champions reportedly making an ambitious move for one of Hajduk Split’s brightest young talents.
According to Croatian reports, Celtic have offered €3million up front for 17-year-old Adam Huram, with another €1.5million potentially arriving through bonuses.
The proposed deal is also said to include 15 per cent of the profit from any future Celtic sale.
There is, however, a significant gap between the clubs. Hajduk are reportedly demanding at least €7million for a player whose reputation is growing remarkably quickly.

Huram is certainly not an unknown teenager being plucked from obscurity.
Born in Mariupol in March 2009, the Ukrainian-Moroccan attacker came through Shakhtar Donetsk’s system before moving to Hajduk.
He is now becoming increasingly involved at senior level.
Hajduk’s own records list Huram with 16 first-team appearances, two goals and two assists. He can operate from the left, centrally or in attacking midfield.
More significantly, some enormous clubs have already been watching his development.
Transfer reporter Rudy Galetti claimed in July that Arsenal and Chelsea were closely monitoring Huram. Interest was also reported from Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic.
That puts Celtic’s apparent move into a very different perspective.
This would not simply be another development signing. Celtic would be attempting to move ahead of some of European football’s biggest operators.

The difficulty is Hajduk’s valuation.
Huram is under contract until the end of 2027, giving the Croatian club little reason to accept a cut-price offer.
If the reported €7million asking price is accurate, Celtic must now decide how strongly they believe in the teenager.
There has been no official confirmation from either club, so caution remains necessary.
However, the player is genuine, the talent is obvious and the previous interest from Arsenal and Chelsea is documented.
If Celtic really have put this package on the table, this is a transfer story worth watching very closely.

The simple answer (aren’t they always the best) is to abolish the loan system altogether.
I’ve heard lots of arguments about that being too draconian because there are good things about loans, but I maintain that if clubs are limited to a certain number of players then they would be forced to make some tough decisions about who they want to keep and those they must sell.
In such an environment every player would have his worth and they would find their level.
