When it comes to famous Celtic victories of the 1980s, one game stands out amongst many great wins, and that is the Hoops’ legendary 5-0 win over St Mirren on the 3rd of May 1986, which clinched the league title for the Bhoys in unexpected fashion.

The Hoops travelled to Love Street to face St Mirren knowing that only a set of unlikely circumstances – a three-goal win and a Hearts defeat at Dundee – would mean that Davie Hay’s side would go on to win the title. That is just what happened as the Bhoys stormed to victory, whilst at the same time, Hearts’ dreams of winning the title were ending at Dens Park.

It was 36 years ago that Celtic won the title at Paisley, and even though the Hoops have won many league titles since not have been won in as dramatic a style as the league that was won at Love Street. What do you remember about that title winning day? Take our quiz to find out.
