Celtic defender Filip Benkovic says that he is happy to score his first goal for the club, after netting in the 5-0 win over Hearts.
The Hoops moved up to second in the league and only one point behind Hearts, with a game in hand, on Saturday.
Benkovic scored Celtic’s second goal, in the 26th minute, after Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring at Celtic Park.
Edouard went on to score a second, with James Forrest and Ryan Christie adding to the scoreline later in the game.
Speaking to Celtic’s website after the game, Benkovic said this:
I’m very happy with my goal. First of all, I want to put the team first. We attack together and defend together and this is the only way we’re able to achieve these things.
We did an amazing job because this was a big win for us. I’m really happy with the result and I’m looking forward to the next game.
When you play in this team, you feel proud. There are very big players in this team and I can learn a lot from them because they have a lot of experience. Everything is very positive right now.
Benkovic joined in the summer on a season-long loan from Leicester and has heavily impressed in the heart of the defence.
