Will Elyounoussi be a good signing for Celtic?
Despite a poor Premier League season with Southampton, Elyounoussi has proven his worth in the past – scoring 24 goals in two seasons for Basel prior to his switch to the South Coast.
The Norweigan winger failed to score in 18 appearances for Southampton, but did show glimpses of quality with his dribbling ability in the final third – although his end product, evidently, left a lot to be desired.
He has also scored five goals in 21 caps for Norway at international level, as well as nine goals in 28 games across the Champions League and Europa League. His experience in Europe could prove vital for Celtic, who will be playing in the latter competition this season.
Neil Lennon will be hoping that he can rediscover the form he produced whilst with Basel and, if he does, he will be a terrific addition to Celtic’s squad.
