The return to action in a Celtic shirt was a long-time coming for Tom Rogic after been plagued with injury and an unsuccessful loan spell at Melbourne Victory.
On his long-awaited comeback, as reported by CelticFC.com, the Australian said: “I got an opportunity and I felt I did ok and hopefully I can push on from here and keep going.
“It’s been a while since I started a match here. I felt really good to be out there and it was positive to get a goal, and we also kept a clean sheet so it was a good day.
“The manager has told me just to keep working and I will get a chance.”
Rogic did admit the road to recovery wasn’t always an easy one.
“It was a long road and at times you get a bit negative. I have been working really hard over the past year and working towards a day like this, so it’s really pleasing.
“Obviously with missing some football, it’s work-in-progress for me in becoming fitter and stronger, and better for myself and the team. I’m feeling good.”
The 22-year-old had high praise for manager Ronny Deila for giving him the chance to prove himself.
“He (Ronny Deila) has given me a lot of confidence this season. I have been working really hard and there have been a lot of lonely hours in the gym. I have had to keep pushing on and working, hoping the opportunities would come.
“We have a good squad and good players and it’s hard to break in but as long as everyone is working for the right reasons and for each other then we will be successful.”
