The idea that giving up a season ticket is an effective form of ‘protest’ is misguided. Football generally, and supporting Celtic in particular, cannot be compared with any other ‘traditional’ business. Having a cherished ticket, often for, literally, decades, is a way of life, possibly shared with family and friends. Denying oneself the privilege of supporting Celtic by being present, and vocally supporting the team, is emotional suicide. And to what effect? Sure, the relatively limited financial dimension of support would be withdrawn; however, imagining that this would have a serious impact on the Club is illogical. The Waiting List would devour any scraps provided by the ‘protests’ of sacrificed season tickets. The Board would not suffer; indeed, it would relish the removal of genuine fans, seriously concerned about where the Club is going under their ‘direction’. While the ‘put up [or DON’T put up in this case] or shut up’ mantra might have an impact on, such as, the local dodgy butcher’s or baker’s business, applying such flawed logic to supporting Celtic is self-defeating. If anyone is prepared to set fire to themselves to get attention then fine. Otherwise, recognising that surrendering one’s season ticket would not hurt anyone except the supporter in question is a more accurate perspective. Frustrating? Of course it is. However, as a means of potentially removing this incompetent, arrogant Board, alternatives to giving up a valuable dimension of one’s way of life (as currently very challenging as that might be) have to be explored. That, as far as Celtic supporters are concerned, really would really be the ‘business’. Obviously, there are no guarantees about the future, but clearing the current deadwood, and remaining in position to potentially support the way ahead would be, at the very least, an optimistic, encouraging prospect.

We have no midfield…..

Utter drivel, high opinion of yourself for one who spouts such nonsense.

Boycott is the only solution. SACK THE BOARD DESMOND GET OUT OF OUR CLUB.

It’s clear now that there’s no collective coaching system. The style of play hinges on a 6 distributing to feet, moving the opposition side to side, awaiting on potential gaps. There is absolutely nothing else to see. The problems are, the system is obvious - it’s easily countered by rigorous press - and relies far too heavily on the 6. Our 6 has lost his legs and those around him (other than Baur) are not prepared to support in a defensive aspect. Now, Baur’s strengths are technical, visionary, and attacking late into the box. He has proven this with solid form and goals of late. He neither has the height, stature or gait to be expected to defend for 90 minutes. It’s not his game and we (should have) known this before signing him. Now he was pursued with rigour, someone at Celtic wanted him badly. Great signing but he his overperforming in this system despite results. Hogh was bought for big money, but again his strengths are not for this system and is underperforming as a result. He has never been a technically mobile ST like Duran, but has been played in a system expectant of it. These 2 signings alone prove the disconnect between purchasing skill-sets for a committed system of play. We have stuck to a system that does not promote the strengths of the players we have, whilst failing to acknowledge or completely ignoring the weaknesses of the players that are consistently starters or supposed impact subs in that stubborn system. Forget the board drama, the ineptitude and silence of those in suits. There is a glaring issue for those in tracksuits to consider. What the f**k are they hoping to achieve with this continued stance? To me, it looks like a league title, all in the hope to at least scraping their way to 1st place. Ok, fair enough, we all want that. But this stubbornness is coming at a cost. The identity and respect of the club is being tarnished. As is MONs legacy.

Desmond and his malignant cabal of corporate greed and austerity fc have made us a European laughing stock , the problem is we are not doing enough to stop them ,the green brigade come out of this shambles with their heads held high and their dignity intact ,the board and Desmond well that's another story, stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club

Sad to see so many turning on MON now. He is getting more flak than the board. Calmac is also getting it thick after years of great service. It is not his fault so much is put on his shoulders due to poor recruitment. This is all on the board, I never thought I’d see our fans turn like this. After following Celtic for 60 years I know that Celtic fans used to be better than this. The bloggers who spent the whole summer correctly hammering the board are now focusing their ire at the manager as if Celtic could attract anyone better right now, no ambitious, decent level manager would go near us. Of course the board will be so delighted about the grief Martin is getting, using him as their shield has worked.
Frankie
Martin would rather take the boards side and does not care about the fans who put honest earned money into the club just shows what he is .
Dan
O’Neill said it was the best 3 points of the season due to conditions and going one down, he did not mean it was Celtic’s best game of the season. You really need to get these things right.

Our Tore Andre Flo... Well almost - I’ve still got hope if he would get decent service... But it’s stretching thin no doubt !
Jeremy Smith
Id give him a game v Falkirk as thats the only plastic pitch in the league, if he falls of the horse in that game then the exit comes into view.

Jim @ 1.50pm... Interesting point about Zionism given the way a split Europe is shaping up... After VAR (to an extent) put a dent into Loyalism with whistles (a close similarity to Zionism) we might get more of this in Europe especially if Dallas still has influence there !
Jim
The game turned when the opposing manager realised what he should have known before the game started, that our midfield is none existent, and worse a liability. He rather strangely, it seemed at the time, brought on two central midfielders at the same time, and the game was over, as he’d realised McGregor and Nygren are useless, and Baur is trying to play all three positions alone. Only the Hearts and Motherwell managers inability to see this simple truth( even with Hearts alone having 20 shots), got us those victories, as they stood off our midfield. Martins decisions are truely baffling, and he clearly still hasn’t sussed that we have no midfield when we pick those players. Chamberlain once more left on the bench, while we bring on Sorensen and Tounetki is baffling and disgraceful in equal measure. As for the officials, the Bulgarian and the 2 Germans on VAR, like the last game with German officials, an utter disgrace, Zionists through and through. Never incompetence in a million years, the arrogance is down to knowinging exactly what he’s doing as he cheats us time after time. But the blame for this ongoing shitshow lies with our board, and a clearly clueless manager. The board have destroyed our midfield, and even when O’Neil stumbles on a possible solution to our deficiencies, he’s completely forgotten about it by the next game. Hard to say who is the biggest liability, Callum or Martin. Our midfield as soon as under any pressure, offer no service to the attack, and no cover for our defence. Time and again we see the whole midfield in the box with our defenders, while the opposing players line up at the edge of the box unmarked. Then Callum , rather than picking a pass, or just punting it up the park, obligingly passes the ball out to the waiting opponents, who have a succession of free shots at goal.

Scousebhoy @ 9.49am... I’m with you buddy it’s another option so why oh why not utilise it... Sevco turned their season around v St.Mirren by winning a second ball from a huge punt up the paek by Pandur and save for a goal line clearance Curtis almost won it in the same manner for them v Dundee... Win whatever way possible (within the rules of course) as this mythical ‘Celtic Way’ is not working these days and it never worked very well for The Late great (person of certainly not manager) Tommy Burns either !

I get your point about deserving better but then I have to disagree for the simple reason that rag should have been banned from parkhead years ago martin o Neil's first time in charge in fact with the thugs and thieves headline then the shameful most hated man at ibrox naming neil lennon after the tax man caught up with the old ibrox club .

Not too long ago wee Scotty was the 'chief sports ' scoop... ahem... at the horrendously poor quality Sunday Mail rag ? Now he is a glorified typist at the equally horrendous daily Record which would suggest is a major downgrade of job title and salary ... presumably ! Was he sacked from his post at the Sunday Mail ? Or did the Record need another theRangers supporting roving reporter to keep the many others there company in their circling the drain of extinction time ? Kno'......

The current Celtic squad is thin on numbers and quality that ONeil is being forced to rest key members of first team for the league priority as Europe is a lost cause completely . We only have 1 functioning midfielder Bauer ,Nygren is a No 10 McGregor plays defensive midfield poorly and is a man down yet he plays every game . Tounekti plays primarily to rest others .OX ,Lotomba Van Den Berg where are they ? Shambles and short termism 75 yr old coach seriously

When it comes to Europe Scotland are Clachnacuddin FC le level !

I can’t say I feel the same way about Mon now so yes in my eyes his legend status has diminished. If he keeps going with these displays in Europe and picking Sorensen and tonnetki and defending the board then he will be thought of less by the fans

Clach, I just cannot understand how Eric can allow a Celtic blogger like Philip Cooney, who makes it so obvious the he does not think that the original Rangers were liquidated fourteen years ago write so many pieces in this otherwise excellent blog. Next time I see Philip Cooneys name in this blog, I will just by pass it, and urge other readers to do the same.

Oh Jesus - The ‘I love calling Sevco ‘Rangers’ (Sic) loony’ is back howling at the moon... THIRTEEN times in that short article Cooney the Looney spouts his pathological lies... What kind of mother and father did he have to have sired such a bare faced mind bender of the truth into our world... Or perhaps he just defied them and became an unadulterated liar anyway... Because in this particular article he’s done it thirteen times !

I'm just surprised that Mrs Ferguson's husband did not toss in the fact that theRangers will be reverting back to Castore gear from next season and just watch them go with that amazing designer kit on each player's backs ! Total confidence in knowing the deal with the troubled outfit (oopsy) , lasts until 2030 . A deal no doubt worth BILLIONS to the Govanlandia tribute act when first signed ..maybe more who knows ? Paling every other club's kit deal into insignificance . Look out for wee Scotty or big Andy from the rag Record promoting the mega deal soon just to keep their dozens of readers happy you understand ! Kno'.....

Collum is the worst referee i have seen in my life and I have witnessed a lot and still doing to this present day the fact that he got this head man job just sums up the whole incompetent shambles and I include the incompetent negligent celtic board in the shambles .

If he had a bigger slice of the pie he would take it all. Greed knows no boundaries and we would be left floundering in a worst state than we are in now if that's even possible.

Celtic and the Hun will never be able to get in on the English game for one reason they would become much bigger than the team's down there getting the same money as man utd and man city every year and the fan base all over the world we would need to build stadium for 1000000

If DD ran Celtic properly, we’d probably already be richer than about 80% of EPL clubs and probably regulars in the CL. He’s the one holding us back not the lack of EPL TV money.
