Stefan Johansen believes that he is very lucky to have not suffered a serious injury during Celtic’s Scottish Cup quarter-final win over Morton at the weekend.
Morton’s Michael Miller, who had already been booked for an earlier foul on Callum McGregor, flew into a challenge with Johansen on the stroke of half-time, but for some inexplicable reason, referee Willie Collum did not show him a second yellow card, instead he simply blew for half time.
The Norwegian was substituted and he and the medical team initially feared that the 25-year-old had suffered a serious injury, but he may only miss Saturday’s trip to Partick Thistle and return for next weekend’s game against Kilmarnock.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Johansen’s agent Tore Pedersen said he’d spoken to his client on a few occasions and said that the midfielder thinks he was fortunate not to have suffered a broken ankle.
He said:
Stefan was in the air as he suffered the challenge. He says he believes his ankle would have been broken had he been standing on the ground.
He had no chance of finishing the game. It was a hard blow. I spoke with Stefan on Sunday night, and again on Monday afternoon.
But it does not seem like it is something serious to Michael Miller. He does not believe it himself.
Johansen’s hasn’t replicated his form of last season however Ronny Deila has retained his faith in his fellow countryman, who has made 33 appearances, scoring four times and providing seven assists this season.
Miller spoke after the game and insisted that he had not deliberately set out to injure Johansen and said it was just an unfortunate, mistimed challenge on the Norweigan.
