Celtic are interested in signing Nigerian international defender Musa Mohammed, according to AfricanFootball.com.
According to the report, Celtic have joined French side Lorient in the race for the 19-year-old who currently plays for Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir.
Mohammed made his debut for Nigeria earlier this year and has been named in the provisional 35 man squad for his country’s Olympic Games in Brazil this summer.
A source told the website:
Those who moved Efe Ambrose to Celtic from Israel now wish to take Musa to the same club. It will be a very good move for a very promising player like Musa.

According to the website, the same representatives who facilitated the move of Efe Ambrose to Celtic are behind this possible deal, which is ironic as it could well be Ambrose who Mohammed replaces if he does make the move to Glasgow.
Ambrose, who will not be part of the Nigerian squad for the Olympics after Celtic blocked him from being called up, has been strongly linked with a move to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the last few days, although a move is far from being completed at this early stage.
