Neil Lennon has revealed why Celtic were forced to take off defender Boli Bolingoli during the first half of the club’s 5-0 win against Kalju.
The defender had appeared to be suffering from an ankle injury after receiving treatment on a knock just before being replaced.
However, Lennon has since told Celtic TV that the defender was in fact ‘feeling nauseous’.
He was feeling nauseous, feeling a little bit light-headed and crampy in the stomach so we took him off as a precaution. Hopefully he’ll be okay in a few days but he’s just feeling a bit viral at the minute.
This comes as a big boost for Celtic, with the injury news not considered to be anything serious.
Bolingoli’s injury was one of the sour notes for Celtic on what was otherwise a joyous occasion for the Hoops in front of their home supporters.
It remains to be seen if Bolingoli will be available for the return leg in Estonia in just over a weeks time, but Lennon may look to rest the player regardless given the club’s 5-0 lead in the tie.
