Manchester City have reportedly offered terms to Celtic target Jose Cifuentes.
That’s according to the media in South America, cited by the Daily Record, who suggest that the player has received an approach from the City Football Group.
The 20-year-old is currently on loan at America de Quito from Universidad Catolica del Ecuador and recently starred at the Under 20 World Cup for his country over the summer.
Celtic boss Neil Lennon confirmed in recent weeks that the exciting Ecuadorian is on the club’s radar, however, it looks as if Manchester City have stolen the march over the Hoops in a potential deal.
Lennon has already brought in four senior additions to his squad ahead of the new season, with the club also securing the services of highly-rated goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi and teenage defender Leo Hjelde in recent days.
Unfortunately for the Northern Irishman, it looks as if he may miss out on the powerful midfielder, who could well decide to join City in the coming weeks, which would then see him head out on loan to a side within the City Football Group.
