Moritz Bauer makes predictions ahead of Cluj clash – Is he right?

Celtic defender Mortiz Bauer believes that Celtic can be successful in Europe, as the team prepare for their second Europa League game of the season.

Bauer’s side take on CFR Cluj on Thursday evening, with the Austrian excited at the prospect of a European night at Celtic Park.

Speaking via the Daily Record, Bauer said:

To play in Europe is a great thing and I can’t wait to experience a European night at Parkhead but we also want to be successful domestically.

I played in the playoff round in the Europa League and Champions League for Grasshopper – we played Lyon, Fiorentina, Lille and Brugge. It would have been great to qualify for the group stage and we were close.

I could smell the atmosphere of European nights. We have the squad to do well in Europe and we have more variety in the squad with the players we have added.

There is a lot of balance which helps because we have six games in three weeks so we will use all the squad.

This is great to hear from Bauer, and his excitement to play for Celtic in Europe shows his passion for the club already.

Bauer will need to be at his best if Celtic are to progress in Europe, with the Hoops not having a good record in European football as of late.

They will also be looking for revenge against CFR Cluj for knocking them out of the Champions League.
