Leigh Griffiths issues positive recovery update

Leigh Griffiths has issued a positive update on his recovery from injury using Eminem’s ‘Without Me’ to send a message to supporters, and it’s good news for Celtic.

The striker uploaded a photograph of him in training gear with the lyrics ‘Guess who’s back, back again’ accompanying the Instagram story, to suggest he is fully recovered from injury.

Griffiths has been out of action with a virus and a thigh injury since September, with his last appearance for the club coming back in the 3-1 win over Hearts in August.

News of Griff fully recovering from injury will come as a big boost for Celtic ahead of another hugely important fixture this season, and given the Hoops’ injury problems up front.

Vakoun Bayo could face a spell of up to six weeks on the sidelines with a knee problem that may require surgery, meaning Griffiths is likely to get some first-team football in the near future.

The Hoops travel to Rome later this week to face Lazio in the Europa League group stages, and while the 29-year-old is highly unlikely to start at the Stadio Olimipico, having him as an option on the bench could be hugely important for Neil Lennon.
