Chris Sutton has shared a rather controversial opinion as he suggested that Rangers are superior to Celtic in one area.
According to The Boot Room, Sutton told BT Sport prior to Rangers’ win over Hamilton that Steven Gerrard’s men “have an edge” over Celtic due to their strength in depth up front.
This is where, at the moment, they have the edge on Celtic, because if Celtic get an injury to Edouard, do they have the backup? Rangers have Defoe, who’s a phenomenal finisher. And Morelos is in the form of his life, isn’t he.

While many have identified Celtic’s need to strengthen their striking options in January, to suggest that Rangers have the edge over Neil Lennon’s side seems strange given how the Hoops are currently top on goal difference.
Furthermore Leigh Griffiths has now returned to fitness after being out of action since August, giving Lennon a little more strength up front.
The Celtic boss will likely be looking to give the 29-year-old more game time on Thursday when Rennes travel to Parkhead in the Europa League.
