Allardyce claims any manager could win trophies with Celtic

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has attempted to take the shine off Celtic’s dominance in Scotland by suggesting that any manager can win trophies at Parkhead, before suggesting that Rangers will win the league this season.

According to the Daily Record, Allardyce responded to a comment made by talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil, who praised Brendan Rodgers for becoming a winner at Celtic and boosting his reputation as a manager.

The former England boss disagreed however, and suggested anyone could be successful at Celtic.

We can all go to Celtic and win trophies. It will be Rangers soon the way they are going under Steven Gerrard. Fans expect you to win trophies and if you don’t do that then you’d get the sack.

Allardyce’s comments are certainly controversial, as he show’s a lack of respect for the excellent job previous Celtic boss’ have done at the club, by suggesting any manager could succeed at Parkhead.

Celtic are competing for a fourth successive domestic treble this season, and have also qualified for the last 32 of the Europa League with two group games to spare, and to dismiss that success by claiming anyone could do it is highly disrespectful.
