Celtic picked up yet another win on the road as they demolished Motherwell 4-0 at Fir Park.
The opening chances of the match fell to the home side who forced Fraser Forster into numerous good saves.
On the 8th minute, however, Callum McGregor found some space to feed a ball into Odsonne Edouard who eventually managed to create enough room to unleash his shot into the far corner and open the scoring.
The remainder of the first half was uneventful and if either side looked more likely to score, it was Motherwell.
Celtic came out of the traps flying in the second half though and doubled their lead through Leigh Griffiths who had a simple finish as the clock striked 50 minutes.
McGregor was yet again the creator for Griffiths, but in the 74th minute, he was the man of the moment. The midfielder struck the ball sweetly and fired it into the back of the net for a simply stunning goal.
A few moments later everyone was talking about Edouard again. Celtic won a free kick on the edge of the box and the Frenchman found the back of the net brilliantly from it.
It was a much improved second half performance from the Hoops as they kept their title defence well on track.
Here’s how we rated the Celtic players…
Fraser Forster: 8
Pulled off some fantastic saves in the first half when it was all Motherwell.
Great game from the ‘keeper.
Jozo Simunovic: 5
Part of a sloppy defence on the night where nobody stood out.
Wayward passing and wasn’t at his strongest.
Christopher Jullien: 5
Poor performance from Jullien and he was lucky that Motherwell weren’t really at it in the second half.
Disastrous pass back in the second half.
Kristoffer Ajer: 5
Should’ve been stronger in the first half, was beaten easily. Not his finest display.
James Forrest: 6
A really quiet game for Forrest.
Phenomenal ball into McGregor’s feet for his goal but that was about it.
Scott Brown: 7
Was on the receiving end of some poor challenges in the first half but kept the midfield ticking over.
Olivier Ntcham: 6
Wasn’t one of the star performers in the win.
Sloppy in his passing and had a few wayward long balls, should’ve also scored.
Callum McGregor: 9
Standout performer, exceptional game from Cal Mac.
Two brilliant assists for Griffiths and Edouard’s first.
Deserved goal and took it magnificently well.
Greg Taylor: 6
Got forward a bit in the first half and dealt with the physical debutant well.
Quiet in the second but another solid enough performance.
Leigh Griffiths: 8
Yet another superb performance from Griffiths.
One of the easiest goals he’s scored but his all-round play was excellent.
Once again, his set piece deliveries were spot on and his partnership with Edouard is ever improving.
Odsonne Edouard: 9
The Frenchman is just unstoppable.
Opened the scoring with a tidy finish but his second, another stunning free kick was the stand out finish.
SUB: Ryan Christie: 5
Came on for Griffiths with 20 minutes left but didn’t see alot of action.
SUB: Patryk Klimala: N/A
Had a half chance late on but couldn’t connect.
SUB: Tom Rogic: N/A
Came on late for Ntcham to see out the game.
