Odsonne Edouard remained a Celtic player past the January deadline, despite the club reportedly lowering their valuation for the forward.
The Hoops slashed their asking price to £25m for the 23-year-old in the New Year, but with the player happy to remain at Parkhead until the summer, no deal materialised.
French journalist Ignazio Genuardi, relayed by Sport Witness, shared an update on Edouard on deadline day. He claimed that the striker has refused to extend his contract in Glasgow, once again confirming that he will wait until the summer in order to benefit from a better market.
Edouard, who has scored 13 times in 25 appearances this season, has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal.

To us, Edouard refusing to pen new Parkhead terms shouldn’t come as a surprise.
However, what matters most now is that the club receives a respectable fee for the forward. A £25m figure could be stretching it in the summer, especially with the player into his final 12 months at Celtic.
His current Transfermarkt valuation stands at £13.5m, so a fee in the region of £20m could still be a solid piece of business. Unfortunately, the Hoops look like they’ll owe Paris Saint-Germain 40% of any transfer after they reportedly inserted the sell-on clause back in 2018.
It looks set to be an interesting six months in regards to the club’s transfer incomings and outgoings, a period of time which could shape the club’s fortunes on the pitch over the coming years.
