Pundit Michael Stewart has taken to Twitter to praise Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou – taking aim at one-time top managerial target Eddie Howe in the process.
Despite a shaky start to life in Glasgow with shock defeats to Hearts and FC Midtjylland in the Premiership and Champions League qualifiers respectively, Ange Postecoglou has got his side firing.
Celtic have secured convincing wins against the likes of AZ Alkmaar and Dundee F.C. – and a 3-2 League Cup win over Hearts to boot – in displays that suggest that from both a tactical and recruitment standpoint, the club and its personnel are pulling in the right direction.
Having joined Celtic with no experience managing in Europe, Ange Postecoglou joined the club as a relative unknown with experience confined to Asia and Oceania.
With a new style of play and an approach to recruitment, Stewart reflected on the possibility of a Howe tenure as he took to Twitter.
Stewart Tweeted [via Scotzine]:
“Penny for Eddie Howes thoughts! Can’t imagine there’s a single Celtic supporter who is disappointed he chose not to join their club.
“I don’t think anyone could’ve seen this turnaround happening so quickly under Postecoglou. Still a long way to go, but this Celtic team are a real unit. Hounding teams down in packs and attacking in numbers with real quality.
“It really makes you wonder where Celtic would be if Ange Postecoglou had been appointed during the last campaign. I don’t think they’d have been beaten by Midtjylland for a start.”

Recent results are certainly encouraging, and the squad appears to be pulling together convincingly on the pitch.
Postecoglou has seen his side rack up 18 goals in five wins in a row in sure-fire proof of his successful implementation of his electrifying brand of football.
