Celtic’s performance in the 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League group stage match was one of the best performances from the Hoops in the biggest tournament in club football.
The Bhoys dominated much of the game, in the second-half in particular, but were unable to find the winning goal that the team’s play arguably deserved.
Ange Postecoglou can be proud of how his team competed in the game, especially as the Hoops had been out of the Champions League for so long, but he must have a slight regret that the Bhoys didn’t turn their domination into only a third ever Champions League group stage win away from home.
Still there is a something for Celtic to build on as they go forward in the group stages, as the team now has their first point on the board in the group stages, and hopefully the Bhoys can add to that tally in their next Champions League match against RB Leipzig in Germany next month.
In the meantime, take a glance at our slideshow which has a look at the numbers behind Celtic’s battling display against Shakhtar Donetsk.
