Mikael Lustig has warned Celtic must be wary of Malmo’s strike partnership of Markus Rosenberg and Nikola Djurdjic in their Champions League play-off.
Both players were on the scoresheet last time out for Malmo as they won 3-0 overturning a two-goal deficit from the first leg.
As reported by the Express, Lustig said: “It’s a tough draw. If we want to see ourselves as a Champions League team this is the type of game we need to win.
“They have good players. I played with Markus Rosenberg in the national team and also Rasmus Bengtsson, the centre-half.
“Both Rosenberg and the new striker Nikola Djurdjic, on loan from Augsburg, will be a threat.”
Lustig also gave an insight on the opposition and how he expects them to lineup.
“Rosenberg is a smart player, he’s scored a lot of goals but he sets up and works hard as well. He went to West Brom but didn’t play that much.
“When he went back everyone in Sweden thought he had dropped a bit, but he has shown how good a player he is by taking Malmo into the Champions League.
“I think Malmo will play 4-4-2 or 4-1-4-1. They like to play good football. They like to keep the ball on the ground and attack with a lot of players.”
The Swedish full-back also believes Celtic have found a formula that works in Europe.
“We’ve found the way to play, both in offence and defence, and we know in Europe if we attack too much we can get punished, so we have been a bit more solid this year.”
