Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic is expected to be the next player to be offered a new long-term contract by the club.
The 23-year-old Australian has finally turned his back on previous injury problems to score seven goals in 29 appearances this season.
Consistency will be key to Rogic’s long-term success at the club if he puts pen to paper on a new deal after struggles early on.
An ankle injury had kept the playmaker out of action for the last five matches, the first period of this season he has been unavailable through injury.
Rogic made his return in the final 15 minutes of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Ross County and will look to break into the first-team once again in the coming weeks.
Ronny Deila has reiterated that he wants to keep him at the club and sees the Aussie international as a key player in Celtic’s future,
As quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times, he said:
He [Rogic] is definitely one of the players that we would like to keep and we are working towards that just now.
We talk all the time and we are always looking to work on the squad. He is one of the players that we would like to tie up on a long-term deal. He’s very important in our team. He has a lovely technique, he has innovation and is creative. The technical aspect he has is the top level.
Tom needs to get his fitness now because he has been out for a few months.

He only actually joined in training at the end of the week so he is still got to reach match fitness but it is a positive thing that he is back.
Last season he was out for so long that I barely knew who he was. But he took the advice we gave him, he got fit and this season he took his chance.
He has been unlucky to miss the last few months but he has played a lot of football this season for us, a lot of games, and hopefully now he can have a role to play as we chase the title and Scottish Cup.
Rogic’s impressive performances against Dundee, Hearts and Hamilton this season will relieve not only himself, but fans too, who are finally able to see what he’s capable of doing.
With a regular run of games and good performances, he could cement his position in the number 10 donning the Hoops jersey.
