Reasons why Steven Gerrard might decide to join Celtic

Steven Gerrard is leaving Los Angeles after spending two years with the LA Galaxy and is set to return back to Liverpool, from where he’ll decide the next move in his career.

He’s admitted in the past that he wants to go into coaching, but when he returns to these shores in December, it’s unlikely that he’ll start coaching straight away.

There have been rumours that he might be looking for a club to play for until the summer at the earliest and Celtic are one of the teams that are being linked with a short-term deal for the 36-year-old.

On the surface, that might seem a bit far-fetched but there actually a few compelling and logical reasons why he might decide to sign for the Scottish Champions on a short-term deal.
