Dundee manager Neil McCann has revealed that his club the club have rejected what he called “a low bid” from Celtic for defender Jack Hendry.
As reported by the BBC, McCann said that Celtic’s offer was much too low to consider accepting and hinted that although they’re likely to come back, they’ll need to significantly increase their bid before a deal is done.
He said:
I would think there would be more interest in the player But clearly they were told it wasn’t enough and that will be the message if it continues in that vein. There’s been a bid, a low bid, very low, but nothing since.
Hendry, dubbed by some as the next John Stones, impressed Brendan Rodgers when Celtic played Dundee earlier in the season and it appears that the Hoops’ boss has decided that he’s good enough to warrant a place in his squad.
However, Dundee have no intention of selling Hendry to the Scottish champions on the cheap, so Celtic will need to increase their offer if they want to get the player in before the window closes.
