Celtic target Nick Powell has reportedly turned down a contract offer at Wigan, raising concerns over his long-term future at the club.
According to the Sunday Mirror, as cited on HITC, the former Manchester United man has rejected Wigan’s latest offer.
Powell is out of contract at Wigan at the end of the season and he has been linked with moves away from the Championship side.
After struggling since his high-profile move to Manchester United, Powell has rediscovered his best form at Wigan, prompting reports that Celtic could look to snap him up.
The Hoops could potentially land him on the cheap in January or have the option to add him to their squad for nothing at the end of the season if he does not renew with the Latics.
Wigan are desperate to keep hold of the player after the influential role he has played in guiding them back to the second tier in England.
