Former Celtic star Aiden McGeady is backing his former club Spartak Moscow to beat Rangers tonight, and has also admitted that he would to re-join the Hoops, the Daily Record reports..
Currently playing in English League One with Sunderland, McGeady spent four years on the books at Spartak after joining the Russian side for £9.5m from Celtic back in 2010.
Despite Spartak having lost their last four consecutive home league games, McGeady is fancying his old side to dismantle Rangers tonight.
McGeady said:
Given the standard of player at Spartak, I don’t think they will have any problems against Rangers.
If Spartak play the way I know they can, then they should have no problem achieving the right result.
I know Spartak, I still follow them and keep in touch with some of the players.

Steven Gerrard was a terrific player and now he decided to test himself as a manager.
And he’s started this season well, by leading Rangers into the Group Stages of the Europa League.
Steven has the making to become a top coach, but it will take time before you can judge his success.
McGeady went on to say that he would love to pull on a Celtic shirt once again, but that he may try coaching if he does not complete a return to the club.
I think the moment where I could have returned as Celtic player has passed.
I would be happy to finish my career in a Celtic shirt, but I don’t think it will happen.
I have not seriously thought about coaching career, but a couple of years ago I would have flatly rejected the idea of becoming a coach, but the older I get, the more I play and watch football, the more often I think about it.
My attention is drawn now to certain coaching decisions and I think that perhaps in some situations I would have acted differently.
