Yesterday, Andre Villas-Boas’ agent ruled out the possibility of his client taking over at Celtic, but he’s now softened his stance on the matter.

The Portuguese manager’s agent, Jean-Paul Lares, backtracked on the comments he’d made about AVB moving to Celtic and said that whilst the former Chelsea boss hadn’t been made an offer, he has not made any decisions about his future.

He said:

Andre has the deepest affection for both Scotland and the Scottish people and the fondest memories of the time he spent there. But we have received no offers from Scottish clubs and no decision has been made on his future, so there’s no way a valid comment can be made on this subject.

AVB has been out of management since he left Chinese club Shanghai SIPG back in 2017. He took a break from football to pursue another passion of his; rally driving. He took part in the 2018 Dakar Rally, but he’s now apparently ready to get back into the dugout.

Whether that will be at Celtic remains to be seen.
