The season started back in July – remember the opposition? Alashkert of Armenia in the Champions League Qualifiers round one.
Over 10 months later the team, with a new manager, were last men standing holding aloft the Scottish Cup for the third year running – completing the fabled “Triple Treble” and creating history once again.
Glasgow really is Green and White, and there have been many players who have contributed hugely to the cause during the campaign – with eight of them having played in over 40 matches each, which is a Herculean effort.
Five tournaments – League, League Cup, Scottish Cup, Champions League, Europa League – not including international commitments. It is a wonder to think that they will be doing it all over again in a little over a month.
So, now is the opportunity for us to rate all the players who pulled on the hoops during the season and made history.
