Celtic fans react to Alex Rae’s comments about Jeremie Frimpong

Alex Rae’s belief that Jeremie Frimpong is not as good a footballer as Rangers’ James Tavernier has caused somewhat of a stir amongst Celtic supporters on social media.

Rae was responding to a Tweet about the pair when he suggested it was “ambitious” to compare Frimpong to Tavernier.

These Celtic fans disagree however, and claim that Frimpong is already streets ahead of the Rangers full-back.

Twitter: @ReadCeltic Frimpong has already won a trophy so yeah “ambitious” for Tavernier… (@dellabhoy)

Twitter: @ReadCeltic Couldn’t lace frimpongs boots 🥾 (@rossmarner)

Twitter: @ReadCeltic No Frimpong is far superior!! (@Calmac007)

Twitter: @ReadCeltic Completely agree, Tavernier doesn’t come close to Frimpong (@foscotland)

Twitter: @ReadCeltic Yeah they are, Tavernier is nowhere near as good. (@ChazMcdonald67)

READ CELTIC VERDICT

Frimpong has certainly impressed this season following his Manchester City move, and the fact that many believe him to be a better play than Tavernier is testament to how well he done this season.

The youngster has already achieved something the Rangers defender has not been able to by winning a trophy, and he will no doubt increase his tally during his time with Celtic while Tavernier’s search continues.
