Carragher: Edouard is the best player in Scotland

Former Liverpool and England defender Jamie Carragher has revealed that he thinks Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard is the best player currently playing in Scottish football.

Carragher, who is a close friend of current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard, risked upsetting his pal by choosing the Celtic star and then criticising one of his players.

Taking time to answer questions from fans on his Instagram page, Carragher, when asked who the best player in Scotland was said:

Edouard, the Celtic striker.

When asked if he was worried about what Gerrard would say about his answer, he replied:

He’ll be in bed, Stevie, don’t worry about it. [Alfredo] Morelos gets sent off too much.

For us, it’s a no brainer that Edouard is the best player in Scotland and it’s nice to see him getting that recognition. It’s also good to see Carragher putting his allegiances to his friend aside to answer the question honestly.

Edouard has been a fantastic signing for Celtic, scoring plenty of goals to help his side dominate Scottish football.

There are still some doubts about his future, but for now, whilst he’s still a Celtic player, there’s no doubt, for us, that he’s the best player in Scotland.
