Celtic have made an offer to sign David Colina

Celtic have made an offer for Hadjuk Split left-back David Colina, according to a report from Croatian media outlet Index.

Index claim that Celtic have made an offer of €3m (£2.7m) for the defender, but have been told by Hadjuk Split that their bid falls was short of their valuation, which stands at €6m (£5.4m).

Aged 20, Colina seems to fit the profile of player that Celtic would look to sign; a talented young player with plenty of upside and room to develop.

However, given that they’ve already spent on a new goalkeeper and are also in the market for a forward player, it remains to be seen if they’re willing to pay over £5m for the left-back.

Greg Taylor is the obvious first-choice in that position currently and with Neil Lennon seemingly not fancying Boli Bolingoli at present, he could well go into the market for another left-back, but it’s hard to see them spending upwards of £5m on a new full-back unless that fee was somewhat offset by the sale of a player or two.
