Celtic fans react to ‘Missed Out XI’ social media post
Celtic have missed out on plenty of players over the years who have gone on to become stars for their new sides.
Ivan Toney was wanted by the Hoops over the summer and the striker even admitted he would walk to Parkhead. However, the club put in an ‘insulting’ offer, with the player eventually signing for Brentford, where he has since scored 23 Championship goals in 28 appearances.
Midfielder John McGinn is another recent example of Celtic missing out on a payer who has gone on to great things. The Hoops had three bids turned down by Hibernian, with Aston Vila going on to sign the Scot for just £3.5m.
@aboutceltic shared a ‘Missed Out XI’ on social media on Thursday evening, which included Toney and McGinn, along with several other players the club. have failed to sign over the years.
The side includes Leicester City’s Timothy Castagne, Wolves defender Willy Boly and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
