Celtic fans back Vasilis Barkas following transfer update

Plenty of Celtic fans have been reacting to a transfer report regarding goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas on social media.

According to Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, a loan move away from Celtic Park for Barkas in the summer could be a possibility.

A return to Greece is not thought to be an option at this moment in time, with Chorianopoulos posting a separate tweet 24 hours earlier claiming the Hoops will move for a new shot-stooper in the summer window.

Barkas has featured just four times in the Scottish Premiership since November after initially turning out on a regular basis at the start of the campaign.

Neil Lennon gave a brutal verdict regarding the 26-year-old at the end of January, and it seems as if the Greek shot-stopper may well spend next season away from Parkhead.

Chorianopoulos‘ Monday morning post on Barkas received plenty of interaction, with these Hoops fans giving their backing towards the goalkeeper.

Some believed the blame should lie at Lennon’s door, with many hoping to see a new boss managing the player.
