Celtic’s Josip Juranovic has been one of the Hoops’ best players this season. The 26-year-old right-back has been solid in both defence and attack, and the Bhoys are not as good when he is not available for selection.

Unfortunately he has not been available for selection in the last few weeks for the Bhoys, after suffering an injury in the Scottish Cup semi-final against Rangers. It could be argued that the injury to the Croatian affected Celtic so badly that the Hoops were unable to win the game, as the team seemed to lose control of the game not long after Juranovic had to go off injured.

Thankfully the Hoops’ bid for the title hasn’t been hindered by the absence of Juranovic, and the Bhoys need just a point at Dundee United on Wednesday night to regain the Premiership title.

With only two games left to play this season, the Hoops don’t need to risk Juranovic against either Dundee United or Motherwell, as the squad is good enough to get the job done without the player.

Anthony Ralston will most likely start the game against Dundee United, and he is more than good enough to help the Hoops get the result required that will clinch the title.

Overall, Juranovic’s first season at Celtic has been a big success. He has played well at both left and right-back, and has scored every penalty he has been tasked to take this season.

The £2.5m fee that the Hoops reportedly paid Legia Warsaw to sign the player looks to be a bargain, and if he can keep playing at his current level of performance then the Bhoys could sell him for a big profit.

Next season will be a really big one for the full-back, as not only will he be playing for Celtic, but he will likely feature in the World Cup for Croatia.

The only concern could be that if Juranovic performs well in the World Cup, clubs could be interested in signing the player, but that is something that Celtic will be well aware of, and these things happen to every club in football.

Perhaps Juranovic will be on the bench for the Hoops against Motherwell, and he might get a run out towards the end of the game so the fans can applaud him for a job well done.

But really that is up to Ange Postecoglou. If he feels that Juranovic can feature against Motherwell, and he has disclosed that the player could be back for that game, then maybe the right-back will make one more appearance before the end of the season. But really there is no need to risk him.
