Bears turn on bears as the stadium fiasco threatens to destroy their season before it even starts and Celtic fans are loving it

Firstly, before I say anything, I’d like to wish Joe McHugh over on Videocelts a very happy birthday.
It was his article from yesterday that inspired me to write today’s.
On Friday the 21st last, I wrote an extensive article on the revelation asbestos may have been disturbed during the upgrade works at Ibrox.
This revelation came from an account called Empire on follow follow.
Empire lists himself as an employee on the popular Ibrox forum.
Joe has continued to follow follow (excuse the pun) Empire on X, and it would appear that his revelations have landed him in hot water with fellow bears.
But unlike most bears, Empire likes to tell the truth.
And as we all know, most bears can’t handle the truth.
In fact the truth and Ibrox have always had a very poor relationship.
Even as we speak, it’s highly unlikely the whole truth is being revealed to Ibrox fans regarding the current stadium fiasco.
However, Empire believes that all bears should know the truth, and that these kinds of things need to be called out, rather than just accepting them.
Which is something loyal bears always do.
They accept whatever is thrown at them by their club.
They’ve just accepted a 10% hike in the cost of season tickets without questioning it.
They accept it whenever share issues are announced, knowing full well that club shares are worth less than toilet roll.
So, it would appear Empire has had enough.
It’s also clear he has no problem telling the truth about what’s going on currently at Ibrox.

One bear questioned his comments by stating he was droning on about the board again.
Which to me is hilarious.
It’s hilarious the fact that Ibrox fans have someone who’s actually speaking up about the shambolic behaviour of the club’s board, and they’re turning on him.
But not the board?
At this moment in time, the bears are really proving that they are the most gullible fanbase out there.
I mean, how much worse can it get before they actually seriously call the board out on it?
They still haven’t managed to secure a venue to play at while the renovations at Ibrox are delayed indefinitely.
Meanwhile, Celtic fans are lapping all of this up and loving it.
Ibrox is giving us plenty to talk about.
But, as I stated in yesterday’s article, the fact that our board are giving us nothing to talk about should be more of a cause for concern for us.
In his article this morning in the Sunday Mail, Hugh Keevins stirred the early awakenings of making the upcoming season into something bigger than it really is with this statement:
Celtic can overtake R*****s as the club who have won most trophies and also equal R*****s’ total of 55 league championship wins if they make it Four-in-a-row. So it is the biggest season since Celtic’s chance to win 10-in-a-row ended in mayhem partly created by a succession of bad signings.
I personally don’t think we were making it into the biggest season since the 10IAR debacle.
But looking at Keevins’ comment, it would appear the media are going to attempt to.
Now, this move could play into our hands, simply because it applies more pressure to Ibrox, than it does to us.
We will overhaul their trophy count, regardless of what the media says.
We don’t need to set nonsensical numerical targets.
And by nonsensical, I mean targets we know do not exist.
Any target we set, were we to set any, is very real.
Despite all of the distraction over at Ibrox, there is still no movement in the transfer market from Celtic.
I went into detail on that yesterday.
In order for Celtic fans to relax, we need to get that first transfer over the line.
I think once that happens, it will be followed by more.
And yes, you can smirk when you see what’s going on over at Ibrox, but save the real laughter for when we beat them at Celtic Park on the 31st of August.
They have given themselves a serious handicap for the start of this season.
It is up to our club, and our board to take advantage of that.
We didn’t do that for the 10IAR season.
And while this is not as important a season as that, despite what Keevins et al say, to make a similar mistake would never be accepted.
The Celtic board would never be that stupid, would they?
I’d like to say no, but stranger things have been known to happen.
Get some deals done Celtic.
That will then assuage any doubts amongst our fan base.
We won’t get an opportunity like this again.
Lawwell is holding us back massively

Absolute rubbish, you are just guessing it’s Lawell as you have not got a clue what goes on within board meetings, just concentrate on backing the team.
I have my doubts as to whether the chief clown in charge (Lawwell) and Desmond will sanction spending much money again this upcoming season they realise there is too much money to be made! Champions League.., selling O’riley, among others, you would expect £60 million if not more.. with only The rangers to beat to the title why bother…?!
We are being short changed season after season while Lawwell is holding the lead, forget what’s happening across the river let’s get our own house in order!!

It’s the same every pre season with Celtic and with PL at the forefront , he believes if we bury them then the fans will lose interest .
He has been wrong all along as the fans have always back Celtic and all ways will regardless who we play.
The board dragging their heels in providing Brendan Rodgers with the signings we desperately need isn’t helping in the preparations for the new season. I know we need to be meticulous in seeking the right players and not buy just for buying’s sake to appease the fans but we need to get players in as soon as possible so they can all blend in and get to know each other and to get to grips with Brendan’s style of play. Come on Celtic get the finger out!

The so called fans on here are unbelievable.
If Peter Lawwell was the toilet cleaner at Celtic, he would still get blamed.
Maybe people need to educate themselves on the role that someone with his job title actually does.
The international transfer window doesn’t open until the 1st of July so everyone needs to settle.
The only reason the other side are announcing player is because they are all on a free.
Just settle and let Brendan do his job
Johnbhoy71, yours is the only post on here that has any modicum of sense in it, and I concur with your points entirely. Celtic are doing their due diligence and I have no reservations whatsoever about them getting the best signings possible at the right price for the upcoming campaign. HH.
I’m a retired Building Surveyor.
As part of any proposed building works ,either new or remedial, there are various Health and Safety Executive Regulations together with other Statutes etc that need to be observed, this process has been ramped up again due to the Grenfell Tower disaster . In the first instance a Risk Assessment needs to be done. When drawing up the the documentation for the proposed works a Construction Design & Management document must be included, this deals primarily with all health and safety issues and forms a significant part of the overall costs.
Whoever was responsible for drawing up the Specification of Works on behalf of the client should discover everything needed to complete the works.
This would involve full surveys of the proposed areas under reconstruction etc.
This is all done prior to the specification being issued to the appointed contractor.
If they have hit asbestos without it having already being identified or the possibility of it included in the specification, then the ongoing implications of that are a logistical and financial nightmare.
In particular if the contractor has actually been appointed. If this is not included in the specification it’s not incumbent on the contractor to carry out these works ( he may not be qualified to do so anyway)
If they are asked to proceed, they can name their own price.
If they are asked to postpone works then their penalty clauses will kick in. Asbestos can be removed or encapsulated ..either way, as the man says, its an extremely costly business.
If it is indeed the case then it will also involve the Local Authority, the possibility for litigation where Asbestos is concerned is both high and potentially extremely damaging to all involved, everybody including third parties need to cover their arses big time.
All of this of course is pure conjecture, surely they couldn’t possibly have cut any corners on exploratory surveys, or not given their surveyors a full client brief.

Same every year. By the time we get players in, they have no time to settle and get on same page as team mates before Campions league starts. (We get the excuse of the world cup or Euros being the reason every 2nd year)
What does international window have to do with it? There’s two strikers in the Spfl we should be signing up. Low cost high reward. We would get both for less than Idah and both have a better scoring record over the years.
Instead we wait and someone offers a good amount for Kyogo and we scramble for some never was to fill the void.
Lawell is here. Rodgers is here, now we talk of Tierney and Eduard and more unrealistically Jotta.

Truth and transparency are two words that have never been much of a factor when it comes to the newco, their fans, and their media.
They can go to extraordinary lengths to make a story fit the narrative they want it to be so they don’t have to face the truth.
The truth is too painful, so they have to get together and somehow make it make sense to each other. Deep down, they know things are bad, but they can’t let timmy see that.

To be fair when your readers are low on intelligence you might become complacent. Also when a fair percentage of them have the cognitive ability of a chimp you might well be tempted to forget about quality altogether. The question here should be.
