It is beggars belief isnt it?
Celtic begin their preparations for their 26/27 Campaign with the strangest, most depressing and frankly bizarre set up I’ve ever seen.
Many are asking what is going on?
Some are described as bed wetters, serial moaners and not true fans of the Club.
But who in their right mind can defend this current predicament the Club finds itself in?
I often say Celtic do not treat the Champions League with the respect that the competition deserves.
7 failed qualifications out of 9 tells you that.
But forget the dizzy heights of the Champions League for a second here.
We are not even treating running the basics of a professional football club with the respect it deserves at present.
Who exactly is taking training tomorrow?
“Yep, June 26th 2026, Scotland’s League and Cup Double winning side will kick off their pre season training regime without a confirmed coaching team around their Manager.
I have never seen anything like this.”
This is what I wrote last night when penning this article. Celtic decided to announce we had staff in place this morning – incredible.
These deals were clearly negotiated before this morning.
They are at it here, big time.
You would think there were financial issues abound if you were to witness a Club go into it’s new campaign with no one to coach it other than a 74 year old manager known for em… not taking training sessions throughout his career.
But fear not – the cavalry have arrived.
Clearly this was designed to try and expose “the bedwetters” being hysterical whilst the master of the clubs destiny had it all in hand all along.
Gavin Strachan just left to join West Bromwich Albion, another coach away.
At least Celtic hashed up some quote and AI image to post on X.
Celtic Manager Martin O’Neill:
💬 “I have only really known Gavin for the past six months, but his contribution was vital to our success and of course I wish him very well for the future in his new role.”
Thank you Gavin 💚#CelticFC🍀 https://t.co/rGwg4KIHLu pic.twitter.com/rhElyQp9C4— Celtic Football Club (@CelticFC) June 23, 2026
Pity the same effort wasn’t made for John Kennedy – more on my feelings on that in another article to come.
I just do not get how supporters are not given clarity over how their Club is set up to go into a new Season until the first day of Pre Seaon.
It is amateur hour stuff.
Scottish Premier League?
Champions League?
This is Pub League stuff at it’s finest.
Even the Happy Clappers must be demanding better.
I often am accused of wanting an excuse to moan about the Club.
Negative for negativity’s sake.
It simply isn’t the case.
I often just want Celtic supporters to see the potential our great club has to aim higher.
Now though, all I am asking is the Pub League basics are met.
“World Class in everything we do” remember that?
Do me a favour.
If you still can’t take the blinkers off and see this for the sh*tshow it is then I can’t help you.
Celtic themselves are are making it clear as day how useless they are – can you honestly still not see it?
Coaching Staff announced on the first day of a new campaign.
Incredible.
Don’t forget there will be many player departures to come as well.
This disastrous Summer is only just beginning.
Look through the cracks between your fingers when checking the transfer rumours.
Maeda, Engels, Hatate, Nygren will all be heavily linked away.
Whisper it quietly but so may our Captain…
Few will be linked to us to join that will excite, I predict.
£1.5M for Sarrachi looks a bit of a stretch for the Board already if rumours are to be believed.
Remember O’Neill Departed Villa on the Day Before New Season Kicked Off.

I have warned a couple of times on here regarding the resignation that rocked Aston Villa to the core.
Fed up of his Board not supporting him as he saw fit, Martin O’Neill left 24hrs before the Villa’s first EPL game of the Campaign.
Could lightning strike twice?
Celtic need to be careful what they wish for here.
Maloney, Fotheringham and Sarrachi all played key roles on and off the park in Celtic winning the Double last season.
O’Neill understandably will want to retain people who played key roles in the Clubs successes.
Not rocket science is it?
So what the f**k was the hold up?
To think either of the coaching staff members would be asking for wild money is absurd.
To think they may of been offered 50% wage cuts initially does not stretch the imagination however.
To think a £1.5M fee for a player in today’s market from a Club with £77m in the bank is too steep is even wilder.
Yet here we are.
Maloney and Fotheringham announced at last possible minute and Celtic haggling to loan Sarrachi than pay his modest transfer fee and wages for 3 years.
Strap yourselves in.
In the words of Paul Weller in his Style Council days I fear “The Long Hot Summer just passed me by” is exactly how we will be feeling come September.
Keep Your Eyes on The Board.
It is not comedy hour just it is ruthless capitalism as carried out by a malignant multi billionaire absentee landlord in the shape of Desmond and his cabal of corporate greed and austerity fc, they have got the season ticket holders money the rest they don’t give a monkey’s, stop giving them your money or you are complicit in the destruction of our club
We shouted to the top and they spoke like a child
Triggering ever changing moods
Winning the double was the best thing that ever happened
Now the walls are tumbling down
It’s our club get the lodgers out
Brilliant!!
Well let’s hope Boycie that in the modfather’s other style council lyrics that ‘walls come tumbling down’ and our ‘money goes round’Wont hold my breath though….Our club could be going underground next season.
