A link that appears out of nowhere.

Gets supporters talking.

Creates headlines for a couple of days.

Then quietly disappears.

The latest is Bodø/Glimt striker Kasper Høgh.

And after weeks of inactivity we are back in for the striker apparently? And we’re going to spend upwards of 7 Million? Do you think we are that stupid?

The Timing Isn’t A Coincidence

The reports surfaced just as criticism around Celtic’s pre-season continues to grow.

A disappointing draw with Shelbourne.

A heavy defeat to Sporting Lisbon.

A flat atmosphere around the club.

And perhaps most importantly, a poor attendance for the Middlesbrough friendly.

Supporters are becoming increasingly frustrated.

Not because results matter in pre-season.

But because the squad still looks incomplete.

Instead of announcing a signing, we’re once again discussing interest.

Monitoring.

Watching.

Preparing.

It’s the same cycle we’ve seen too many times before.

They wanted action.

The empty seats should have been a warning.

Not that fans don’t care.

Quite the opposite.

They’re tired of hearing about ambition instead of seeing it.

Of waiting until August for obvious positions to be strengthened.

And watching rivals add players while Celtic continue to “explore options”.

Briefing another transfer link doesn’t solve that.

If anything, it makes the frustration worse.

The Board Need To Start Delivering

No supporter expects every rumour to become a signing.

That’s football.

But there comes a point where actions have to replace headlines.

Martin O’Neill has spoken about changing Celtic’s style.

That requires players.

If Kasper Høgh is the man Celtic want, then go and get him.

If he isn’t, stop using transfer links to distract from the bigger issue.

Because supporters aren’t asking for another rumour.

They’re asking for evidence that the club shares the same ambition they do.

And right now, that evidence is becoming increasingly difficult to find.
