Celtic Are No Great Shakes – But We Can Always Rely on the Ibrox Club for a Laugh After Two European Exits
Celtic supporters endured a miserable Tuesday, but Derek McInnes and the Ibrox club have provided some priceless comic relief by crashing out of Europe twice.

Celtic are no great shakes at the moment. Tuesday night made that painfully obvious.
However, whenever things look particularly bleak at Celtic, there is usually one reliable source of entertainment waiting across Glasgow.
The Ibrox club.
Thank you, Derek McInnes. We genuinely needed that.
After being knocked out of the Europa League by Jagiellonia Bialystok, the big-spending Ibrox revolution was handed another chance in UEFA’s third competition.
Surely the Conference League would be manageable?
Apparently not.
Celtic still in Europe as Ibrox millions disappear
The new ownership have certainly backed their managers.
BBC Sport reported a net spend of around £20million in their first summer alone. This year another major rebuild has followed, with McInnes already reaching 12 summer signings.
Kim Min-su cost a reported £8.5million, while Kevin Kelsy arrived in a deal worth around £9.5million.
Millions upon millions. New owners. New manager. New players.
And European giants Jagiellonia Bialystok and Jablonec have sent them packing.
You couldn’t make it up.
They even took a 1-0 advantage to the Czech Republic.
Ninety minutes wasn’t enough.
Extra-time couldn’t save them.
Then came penalties – one final opportunity to stumble into the Conference League.
Nope.
Out they went.
Celtic still in Europe – McInnes has the remote
McInnes really deserves special recognition here.
To get knocked out of one European competition is unfortunate.
To get handed another one and immediately get knocked out of that as well takes commitment.
This isn’t Real Madrid and Bayern Munich we’re talking about either.
It’s Jagiellonia and Jablonec.
Celtic supporters shouldn’t forget our own problems. Tuesday was dreadful, and Martin O’Neill still needs serious reinforcements.
But there is one delicious little detail.
Celtic are still in Europe.
The Ibrox club aren’t.
After all the money, all the rebuilding and all the grand plans, European nights at Ibrox are finished before August is finished.
Get the jelly.
Get the ice cream.
At Celtic we might be having problems of our own, but whenever we desperately need a laugh, you can usually depend on the Ibrox club to provide one.
