Ronny Deila has called for the players to stand by the team after this week’s events, which included a petition being launched for the Norwegian to be sacked.
Many fans and captain Scott Brown criticised the person who launched the petition anonymously, but Ronny Deila respected that fans have differing opinions.
Speaking to the media ahead of Sunday game against Hearts, as quoted by the BBC, the Norwegian said:
Supporters have their opinions and there are different opinions among the supporters.
It’s very important that they stand behind the team and I’m sure they are.
Celtic slipped to a 2-1 defeat last weekend at home to Motherwell and have begun to lose patience with Deila at the helm.

However, his first defeat in the league since September still left the Hoops a point clear at the top of the table with a game in hand over Aberdeen.
With silverware on his mind, Deila added the pressure is always there, regardless of results – which is the nature of the job at Celtic.
I feel pressure all the time. We want to win, I want to win. We have every opportunity again to win a lot of trophies this season.
Deila also alluded to the main reason why he took the job in the first place and reminded fans what he is looking to achieve at the club, with a first domestic treble since 2001 still on the cards.
As I’ve said many times, I know why I’m here: it’s to win trophies, to do something in Europe and to develop this team. That’s what I’m going to do.
We have every opportunity again to win a lot of trophies this season – I had two last year. Nothing is lost, so I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season.
