Stefan Johansen has revealed that Brendan Rodgers has held talks with the Norwegian over his future at Celtic.
The midfielder is coming off a disappointing season in the green and white Hoops, as he struggled to replicate his form from the previous season when he picked up the Player of the Year Award.
Rodgers is currently analysing his bloated squad and trimming it where necessary, which has seen three strikers already set for the exit door at Paradise with more players expected to leave.
As quoted by the Daily Record, Johansen spoke about his conversation with Rodgers and said:
I got a call from him and he explained to me what his plans were so we’ll see what happens when I get back to Glasgow.
I felt wanted but I have to prove myself in pre-season – we all do as we have a new coach.

With one year left on his current deal, the 25-year-old will need clear assurance from the club over his future through an offer of a new contract, or he too will be leaving the Hoops.
Johansen joined Celtic in January 2014 under Neil Lennon and was joined in the summer of the same year by his former boss at Stromsgodset, Ronny Deila.
He made 40 appearances last season, scoring four goals and assisting on nine occasions – and his last league goal came on Flag Day against Ross County.
