Rodgers on why Monchengladbach will be a threat

Brendan Rodgers has been speaking about his side’s upcoming Champions League clash with German opposition Borussia Monchengladbach.

It is Celtic’s second home game in the competition, having previously drawn 3-3 in an enthralling encounter with Manchester City, so the Hoops will have confidence of taking all three points in front of a packed Celtic Park.

Andre Schubert’s side have yet to pick up any points in this years campaign, after losing to both City, and Barca and will be eager to perform well on Wednesday night against Celtic.

As quoted by the BBC, Rodgers said:

They’re a team that are tactically good, technically very strong and with young players. They are very fast and dynamic but that’s the level of the Champions League.

They’ve been playing 3-4-3 so another test for us in every element of the game but one that we’re really looking forward to.

Celtic’s last result ended in a comfortable 2-0 home win to Motherwell, though Monchengladbach weren’t so clinical.

A goalless draw at home with Hamburger SV extended their win-less run to three games in all competitions, and currently sit in eighth place in the Bundesliga.

Celtic are at home to Monchengladbach in the Champions League match-day three this coming Wednesday, before travelling to Germany in two weeks time for the away clash.
