Rodgers says that individual awards reflect team performances

Brendan Rodgers has been named as the Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for April.

It is his fourth Manager of the Month award this season; which reflects the positive impact he has had at Parkhead.

Celtic won four of their six matches for the month; the other two were draws. The Hoops could not have started the month better as they thrashed Hearts 5-0 at Tynecastle, to seal the league title. The conclusion of the month was just as good, when the Bhoys recorded a 5-1 victory at Ibrox.

Speaking to the media, Rodgers said:

We’ve had some great results, and even more importantly, we’ve played so well.

It’s always great to win games, but it’s even better to win well. We’ve had some outstanding performances this month and I accept that award on behalf of everyone at the club.

Personally, awards don’t mean a lot to me, but I think it highlights a lot of the good work that goes on all the way through the club.

I receive it as the manager and leader of the football idea in terms of what we’re trying to promote, and how we are trying to play the game.

It’s a great reward for everyone that’s involved here at Celtic and hopefully there are many more to come.

Rodgers always has something positive and encouraging to say and the Celtic supporters truly know that this man loves the club.

He is doing everything in his power to bring this club to the top; not just to the top of Scottish football where the Hoops already summit, but to the top of Europe as well.
