Celtic eye a move for playmaker Srdan Plavsic

Brendan Rodgers is eyeing a move for Red Star Belgrade playmaker Srdan Plavsic this summer.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old Serbian international is a summer target for the club, and would cost around £1.5 million.

Plavsic’s contract expires next summer and Celtic could make a move early to fend off Turkish side Bursaspor who are also interested.

The right winger has been nicknamed ‘Atomic Ant’ for his small nature and could replace Patrick Roberts, who the Hoops still harbour hopes of securing for another season on loan.

In 33 appearances this season, Plavsic has scored eight goals and registered five assists across all competitions.

He can also play on the left wing or in the attacking midfield role behind the striker – versatility which Rodgers has always been fond of this season in his team selection.

Celtic are still looking to make progress to become a force in European football again after securing three points in this season’s Champions League group stage in a very tough group.
