Ex-German international MarvinĀ Compper wants to be given a chance to prove his worth at Celtic, rather than forcing a move away from the club.
Compper gave a revealing interviewĀ to German outlet Bild, in which he confirmed that Celtic were looking at the possibility of moving him on over the summer.
Despite the club’s aims, the defender wants to be allowed the opportunity to impress the Scottish champions.
I still have a contract until 2020.Ā Of course, I donāt want to sit on the bench. Already in August Celtic suggested a change of club. But I donāt want to get away from the pitch so easily. I hope for my chance and want to play.

The former RB Leipzig defender has been a peripheral figure since arriving at the club, finding game time hard to come by.
After joining the club back in 2018, he has struggled with injuries and is not considered to be part of Brendan Rodgers’ first-team plans going forward.
Compper has struggled for regular minutes at his previous clubs, making just 79 appearances for RB Leipzig across all competitions during the four years he spent there, while he also unable to break into Fiorentina’s squad during his time inĀ Italy.
