Former Celtic man tells Scott Allan to leave club
Former Celtic player Alan Stubbs has said that Scott Allan should seek opportunities away from Celtic Park.
This may not come as a surprise to Hoops fans, considering the midfielder has made just 17 appearances since signing for the club in 2015.
Signed by Ronny Deila, Allan has been loaned out three times since arriving in Glasgow. Chances at Rotherham United, Dundee, and Hibernian failed to show the relevant boss that he belonged in the first team, and now the 26-year-old looks destined to leave Celtic.
With six months remaining on his current deal, Stubbs is of the belief that Allan should move on.
Speaking on BT Sport, Stubbs said:
He needs to be playing, wherever that is, whether it’s at Celtic or out somewhere else,
It’s not doing him any favours being there, especially with the way that the loan window is now. It is every six months and you’ve got to be out.
Should Allan be offered a new contract at Celtic Park?
Yes
No
It’s not doing Brendan any favours. He’s too good. I’m surprised he hasn’t gone out.
A free agency signing seems the likeliest destination for Allan.
