Celtic interested in signing Josh Maja
Celtic are interested in signing Sunderland forward Josh Maja, according to a report from The Chronicle.
The 20-year-old striker has been in prolific form for the Black Cats, scoring 14 league goals in just 23 games, at an average of a goal every 115 minutes that he’s been on the field.
Speculation about the forward’s future has been rife in the North East of England, with rumours swirling which suggest that he could be the latest English youngster to make a move to Germany.
However, Celtic are interested in the striker too, although it remains to be seen if they’ll be willing to make an offer for him during this transfer window.
Maja missed Sunderland’s 1-1 draw with Luton Town with manager Jack Ross saying the absence was due to a stomach bug rather than anything to do with his future.
Maja’s current contract expires in the summer and he rejected the chance to sign a deal worth seven times more than his existing salary, so it looks like he’ll be on the move.
Sunderland will not want to lose the talented forward for free, so may look to cash in on him before the month’s end.
