James Beattie believes Lawrence Shankland should join Celtic instead of Rangers, and he makes an excellent point as to why.
According to 67 Hail Hail, Beattie told the Open Goal podcast that Celtic’s style of play would suit Shankland more than that of their Glasgow Rivals Rangers, as both sides eye a move for the prolific striker.
I think he’s good enough for Celtic. I think he suits Celtic’s style more than Rangers. Celtic need a striker. The way Morelos plays, he creates a lot of the chances and makes a lot of the goals himself, whereas Celtic are more creative in the final third with their wide players.
I think he would be more suited and think he could quite easily come into Celtic and do a job there. The problem is going to be, if it’s a January move, that Dundee United are going to want silly money for him.

Beattie certainly makes a good point, as he is likely to suit Celtic’s style of play due to the kind of striker he is.
Neil Lennon has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal which allows the likes of Odsonne Edouard to thrive at Parkhead.
Shankland, therefore, would likely continue his prolific form should he move to Celtic given how much service he would be given from his teammates.
