Celtic and Rangers among the teams considering Dawson swoop
Celtic are reportedly among the teams considering a move to sign Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Cameron Dawson, with Rangers, Derby and Blackburn also monitoring his future.
According to The Star, the player is attracting interest from a wealth of clubs with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Despite Dawson confirming to The Star that talks over a new deal had been ongoing, no agreement has been reached as things stand, with the 24-year-old keen to stay put.

Moussa Dembele’s £500k (SportsJoe) move from Fulham is a perfect example of how Celtic have used the Championship to find bargains in the past and Dawson could well be the next name to come through the doors at Park Head.
At the age of 24, Dawson has ousted long-standing Wednesday keeper Keiren Westwood in recent months and now has 17 appearances to his name across all competitions (WhoScored).
Would Cameron Dawson be a good signing for Celtic?
Yes
No
With Dawson out of contract in the summer, he could be a much cheaper alternative to Fraser Forster, who is currently on loan at Celtic from Premier League side Southampton. Back in December, Football Insider reported that Southampton would be demanding £25m for Forster in the summer, a fee that could make a summer move for Dawson quite appealing to the Celtic board.
Comparing the two, Forster – while he’s a Celtic hero – is seven years older and will be far more expensive in terms of both transfer fee and wages. While Dawson may not have the same level of experience, he certainly looks like the better target from a financial point of view.
