Opposition Dangerman: Partick Thistle (A)
The winter break is finally over and the Hoops are back in action on Saturday as they tame on Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
Neil Lennon will take his side to Firhill for a 5:30pm kick off, in their first game of the decade.
Celtic faced Partick Thistle earlier in the season in the League Cup, where they strolled to a 5-0 win at Parkhead, despite fielding a supposed weakened side.
It should be an easy enough start to the year for the Bhoys, with Partick at the wrong end of the Championship, but nothing can be taken for granted.
Ian McCall’s side come into the game on the back of a 4-1 battering from Dundee United, and have only won once in their last four outings.
Last Saturday’s consolation goal was scored by veteran Kenny Miller and it’s no surprise he’s our opposition dangerman for this one.
KENNY MILLER
He was highlighted when the two last met, but proved to be ineffective, but finding a spark in this Partick side isn’t easy.
The 39-year-old is still undoubtedly, Partick’s biggest goal threat, with five goals in 21 Championship appearances this season.
It’ll be Miller’s 31st run out against his former side and if there are to be any cup shocks in this one, it’s likely the former Scotland striker will be at the heart of it.
