Neil Lennon issues update on Boli Bolingoli
Neil Lennon has revealed Boli Bolingoli is “back in contention” to make the matchday squad for Celtic’s trip to Motherwell on Wednesday.
Despite being a regular starter during the first-half of the season, making 27 appearances in all competitions prior to the winter break (Transfermarkt), Boli has not featured since the Glasgow Derby defeat to Rangers in December.
However speaking ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Motherwell, Lennon revealed he’s ready to return to the squad after having some “time out.”

The table’s have certainly turned in Greg Taylor’s favour this year so far, and Lennon confirming the Scotland international is currently his first-choice left-back is intriguing in my opinion.
Former Killie man Taylor was hardly given a sniff during the first-half of the season, with Lennon using him sporadically to say the least, with five appearances in total for Celtic in 2019 (Transfermarkt).
However he appears to have moved above Boli in the pecking order, meaning we could now see very little of the Belgian for the remainder of the campaign given how little we saw of Taylor prior to the winter break.
For Lennon to have switched so suddenly suggests to me that he wasn’t completely happy with Boli and has given him some time out to improve his game, especially as the Celtic boss has said nothing to suggest the Belgian has been sidelined with an injury.
Who do you think Celtic's best left-back is?
Boli
Taylor
So can Boli now win his spot back? Or will Taylor continue as the Hoops’ number one left-back?
I personally feel as though Lennon will continue to use Taylor as his main man at left-back for the remainder of the season, but it will be intriguing to see whether that changes during the second-half of the campaign.
