Celtic will take on FC Copenhagen in the second leg of the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League tonight at Celtic Park.
The first encounter between the two sides last week ended in a 1-1 draw, even though Celtic had plenty of chances to come away with a victory.
On the other hand, they could consider themselves lucky not to have emerged with a defeat after goalkeeper Fraser Forster saved a penalty to spare their blushes.
Lennon’s men will have the home advantage this time and should be confident of booking a spot in the last 16 of the competition, especially after scoring an away goal.
However, the team needs to be careful and ensure that they do a few things in the right way to avoid any sort of disappointment.
Below, we’ve listed five things that Celtic may have to do this evening in order to advance in the competition.
Avoid conceding an away goal
This could be crucial. At the moment, a 0-0 draw would see Celtic through but if Copenhagen score, then the Hoops will need to beat them on the night. Therefore, Lennon should urge his players to take no risks at the back.
If Celtic were more clinical in the first leg, this tie could have already been over. However, it’s not and they need to ensure they have their finishing boots on this time around because they may not get away with it again.
Where there are goals, there is Odsonne Edouard. The Frenchman has scored 25 times in all competitions this season so the Hoops need to try and make their chances fall at his feet.
Keep N'Doye quiet
Dame N’Doye levelled for Copenhagen in the first leg and the veteran striker showed that he just needs one clear chance to make a difference. Celtic need to make sure he doesn’t even get a sniff at goal and Christopher Jullien could be the key to that.
Use crowd's energy to their advantage
Celtic Park will be loud and proud, there’s no doubt about that. However, it’s up to the players to use the energy from the fans in a positive way and to put Copenhagen on the back foot. Many teams crumble under the atmosphere at Paradise and Celtic need to take advantage of that.
